Job Opportunity: Field Director, Pima County Democratic Party

I. Position Overview: The Pima County Democratic Party is looking for a skilled, organized and experienced field organizer for the role of Field Director to ensure our continued success moving forward in 2012. The Field Director is responsible for overseeing registration, mobilization and voter contact for the party including but not limited to overseeing use of the predictive dialer, writing and implementing the annual field plan and assisting candidates in their voter contact plans.
II. Responsibilities:
- To implement voter contact programs with a goal of increasing Democratic turnout in elections.
- Impliment (when appropriate) paid and volunteer canvasses to increase voter registrtaion and mobilizationl including enrolling voter sin the PEVL
- To oversee use and prioritization of the Predictive Dialer for campaign use.
- Inform candidates about VAN and provide assistance as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date VAN data recording by training volunteers in the use of the barcoders and other techniques and implementing a recording program with the assistance of the Volunteer Coordinator.
- To consult with the Executive Director and GOTV Committee to assure that a coordinated program is followed.
- To work with the Coordinated Campaign in elections where the ADP is involved and discuss any problems or issues with the Executive Director and the Officers as needed.
III. Skills & Qualifications Preferred:
- 1-2 years (campaign cycles) political, government or nonprofit field experience
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends
- Ability to learn complex database and voter file programs (NGP, VAN, etc.)
- Knowledge of Social Media and their role in advocacy
- Valid Driver’s License, auto insurance, and vehicle
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus
IV. Salary and Benefits: Salary negotiable; dependent upon experience and qualifications. Benefits include health care and paid vacation. The Field Director is also compensated for mileage.
