A Brief History of LD-26 Elections

and before:   There was no LD-26.  Redistricting in 2000 became effective with the 2002 election.  LD-26 was created from much of LD-12 and part of LD-13.

(the last election under previous redistricting):   LD-12 elected Toni Hellon (R) to the Senate and Pete Hershberger (R) and Steve Huffman (R) to the House.  NO DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES WERE ON THE BALLOT IN LD-12.

The same three Republicans were again elected (this time in LD-26), AGAIN WITH NO DEMOCRATS ON THE BALLOT.

The same three Republicans were again elected. NO DEMOCRAT ON THE SENATE BALLOT AGAINST HELLON.  On the House ballot Democrats Marty Drozdoff and Amanda Simpson lost to the two Republicans.

Charlene Pesquiera (D) beat Al Melvin (R) for the Senate seat.  For the House, Lena Saradnik (D) and Pete Hershberger (R) won over the Republican Jorgenson.  NO SECOND DEMOCRAT ON THE BALLOT.

Rep. Nancy Young Wright, Cheryl Cage, and Don Jorgensen CAN put LD-26 over the top with three Democratic victories!
