Judge Rules in Favor of Democrats & the Public in Election Integrity Lawsuit
Tucson, AZ (12/18/07) Superior Court Judge Michael Miller ruled today that the Pima County Democratic Party can have access to electronic voting records of the 2006 Primary and General elections – and left the door open for Democrats to request additional records of other elections.
“This is a major victory of national importance for public oversight of elections,” said Pima Co. Democratic Party Chairman Vince Rabago. “The judge specifically found that the Democratic Party’s involvement has helped make elections more secure and that the public will benefit from our continued involvement – including our involvement in ‘reviewing election management software.’ This is a victory for the public which should never accept anything less than transparency and accountability in the conduct of its elections.”
