Bee: Time to address federal issues

It's time for Tim Bee to address the federal issues that matter to Arizona families. In the nearly four months since Tim Bee announced he would run for Congress (not to mention his "exploratory" activities), Bee has been running an active campaign - but a campaign devoid of ideas. Bee's campaign "declined to give specifics" about Bee's plan for gas prices or the economy, did not get back to a reporter before deadline about Bee's position on Social Security, said Bee didn't "have a position at this point" on H1-B visas, and "did not respond to a request regarding [Bee's] position on the earmark process." [PolitickerAZ, 5/12/2008, Yellow Sheet, 5/7/08, Sierra Vista Herald, 4/6/2008, and Arizona Daily Star, 4/12/08].
"Like a lot of voters, I'm curious what Tim Bee would do on a host of federal issues, and I'm surprised that he hasn't figured it out this far into his campaign," said Maria Weeg, executive director of the Arizona Democratic Party. "I look forward to finally hearing Tim Bee's answers to the following questions."
1. What should be done to address the housing crisis?
2. Do you support raising the cap on H-1B visas for highly-educated and highly-skilled foreigners?
3. Where do you stand on privatizing Social Security - also sometimes called "private accounts" or "personal accounts?" Karl Rove, Steve Forbes and Grover Norquist, all famous supporters of privatizing Social Security, have held fundraisers on your behalf. You're bringing in Bush Administration Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, another privatization advocate next week.
4. Do you support President Bush's stay-the-course agenda in Iraq?
5. Why do you disagree with Senator John McCain about climate change? You have said that you are not convinced climate change exists while Senator McCain believes "climate change is real." [Arizona Daily Star, 4/13/07, Republican Presidential Debate, 12/12/07].
6. Do you believe Medicare should be allowed to negotiate for cheaper prescription drugs?
7. Do you support eliminating billions in subsidies for oil and gas companies and using the savings to fund tax credits for renewable and solar energy?
8. Would you ever submit an earmark request as a Member of Congress?
9. Do you support embryonic stem cell research?
10. Do you support providing veterans returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan with educational benefits ranging from college tuition to living stipends? Or do you stand with Senator John McCain in opposition to the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act (H.R. 5740), introduced in the House by Congressman Harry Mitchell?
