Bush's Labor Secretary Raises Money For Tim Bee as local workers protest
Labor Secretary Chao is the only remaining Cabinet member from Bush's first term
Tucson, AZ (5/19/09) Concerned citizens are expected to rise early Tuesday morning to protest George W. Bush's Labor Secretary, Elaine Chao, who will be in Tucson for an early morning fundraiser for Republican congressional candidate Tim Bee. The Republican's fundraiser breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Stilwell House in Tucson (134 S. Fifth Ave). Concerned citizens and workers, including representatives from organized labor, are expected to be on hand earlier to express their displeasure with Bush's policies toward workers.
Vince Rabago, Chairman of the Pima County Democratic Party, chided Tim Bee for his Bush Fundraising machinery, and his apparent willingness to embrace Bush and his failed partisan presidency and policies.
"Tim Bee's parade of Bush supporters dance to the pied piper's tune of trying to "privatize" social security with private ‘investment' accounts," said Rabago. "Make no mistake: Arizonans are realizing that a vote for Tim Bee threatens our social security system with privatization."
"Moreover, nearly 70 percent of Americans do not approve of the job that President Bush is doing and feel that our country is headed in the wrong direction, yet Tim Bee embraces Bush loyalists like Karl Rove, Washington GOP insider Grover Norquist, and now Elaine Chao, the Bush Administration's Secretary of Labor. These Bush loyalists have all come to Arizona to raise money for Bee's race against hard-working Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in an apparent effort to continue Bush's legacy in Washington D.C."
"Most Americans cringe at the devastation that George W. Bush and his sub-prime presidency have wrought on our Country through Republican greed and right-wing politics. George W. Bush is now synonymous with corporate cronyism, ‘smear-and-fear' politics, Constitutional lawlessness, out of control spending, bloated deficits, a foreign policy fiasco in the Middle East, and now an impending recession. And Labor Secretary Chao is the only remaining Cabinet member from Bush's first term who will apparently stick with Bush until the bitter end. What does this say about Tim Bee?
