FEC Report Reveals Tim Bee Re-Paid $40,000 to National Party; $0 to Local Tax Payers
TUCSON (Aug. 25, 2008) — "Why won't Tim Bee repay local tax payers when he gives big bucks back to National Party for the Private George Bush Fundraiser?" asked Vince Rabago, Chairman of the Pima County Democratic Party. "Times are tough and budgets are tight. Tim Bee was fine paying back his national buddies, but when it comes to reimbursing the people who really need it, he acting like a typical politician."
Below is what these funds mean to local law enforcement budgets:
Tucson
The $57,000 the city was forced to spend for Bee's private fundraiser could have been used to:
Hire one additional police officer, starting salary $45,510
Or, hire one additional firefighter, starting salary $41,845
Or, hire one additional paramedic, staring salary $54,832
Or, cover the Police Department's entire annual budget for training equipment $52,000
Pima County
The $42,000 the county was forced to spend for Bee's private fundraiser could have been used to:
Hire one additional deputy sheriff, starting salary $42,099
Or, hire one additional county corrections officer $35,381 |
